Giclee Prints - Great Performance for Lower Cost

by admin on Oct.02, 2009, under Giclee prints

A bit of history about the Giclee Print process - it was developed in the 1990’s as a way to reproduce art work with spray printers instead of lithographs. This is a bit more computer generated, leading to a closer reproduction of the original work, and a more realistic “artistic” feel than poster printing.

Giclee printing can be done on paper, vinyl or on canvas. Canvas is the most common medium for Giclee printing, and when presented in a museum wrap format, can be hung with dramatic effect even without framing.

Most popularly, Giclee printing is used for producing photos on canvas, or canvas prints for a more expensive take on photo gifts. Giclee printing is also now completed with higher quality pigments that have proven to be fade resistant.
